What does a Computer Game System Require?

9.8.08

By Rex Simpleton

Every system that exists on this planet needs a requirement. No matter how many or how big the requirement is, it is essential to comply with the requirements to full realize its potential or to just simply make it work. In science, a system may require any factor affecting it. For example, for a plant to complete its photosynthesis, it must collect carbon dioxide from its surrounding.

The computer video gaming is based on the same type of idea. There must be certain requirements that the computer system must have for the game to be played. Such requirements vary from game to game and the capacity of the device; for example a console, to perform functions and play the game asked for by the programmer.

Compatibility also has something to do with computer requirements. The idea behind this is the simple fact that a game can be played with compatible device which can play perfectly the said software. For instance, the video resolution of a program may differ according to the monitor that a gamer may use. With requirements, the user may know which monitor can possibly display good video.

What is the need for a certain requirement for a console to play the game? The game software is such designed for the latest technology surroundings. In case they are not compatible with the game systems, there are great chances that the nature of game would be hugely affected. These certain requirements set by the game are not for the game developer or the console manufacturer. These are for the benefit of the user in an effort to have the best quality video resolution output from the game and system.

These requirements are the minimum basic necessities that a computer system must possess in order to play the game. Each and every game may need some specifications for the computer system on which they are to be played. Certain requirements that may be need from the computer system are:

Speed of Processor - the speed of the processor is a very important factor that any game may require from a computer system. The speed of the processor tells as to how much time the computer system would take in order to complete a task. Video games being an executable program require the maximum speed of a system. Generally, the speed of processor is measured in terms of megahertz (MHz) and gigahertz (GHz), where megahertz is smaller than gigahertz. Exactly, one gigahertz is equivalent to a thousand megahertz. The processors having high speed can run the game at their own speed or lower but the processors having slow speed can never run those games that have high speed processor requirements.

Random Access Memory - this is commonly known as the internal memory or plainly memory of the computer. This memory helps store some data immediately needed by the processor. Most of the computer machines available in the market has preset RAM equivalent to 64MB. Most games may require RAM equal to this. However, there are game programs that require higher RAM like 126MB. This is not something to worry about because RAM can be upgraded with higher memory capacity.

VRAM - it is abbreviation for Video Read Access Memory. The computer displays the resolution of the games based on VRAM. The working of this memory is based on video card. These video cards are just like processors which provide the system with visual display. VRAM is a short term memory and saves all the graphics technology information which is used by the video card and processor.

Disc Capacity - refers to the capacity of the hard drive to store files and information. Disc space is also measured and uses the unit megabytes (MB) just like the VRAM and the RAM. The higher the disc space, the more games that you can store and play in your computer. Like the RAM, disc memory capacity may also be upgraded. One can even have higher memory that can be measured in gigabyte (GB).

Speed of CD ROM - it is not always true that the games installed in the computer system require a storage disc all the time. Many of the companies perform up gradation of programs by using discs, which is later added on into the game by the reinstallation process of the game. The installation procedure is faster if the speed of CD ROM is faster. CD ROM is also used in copyright protection of the game. CD ROM performs the task well of playing the game programs that have equal or lower speed requirements.

By Dave Bern

No matter if you intend to do your Cisco Certification training at a brick and mortar computer training center or one that is online, there are certain things which need to be taken into consideration first. Remember it is not only your time but also your money you will be using to get the appropriate qualifications. So time needs to be taken over making the right decision for your training.

Below we offer a few pointers which will help you to decide not only whether it is worth your while doing these types of courses. But could also help to save you time and money as well.

Tip 1 - When it comes to deciding to whether to do your training online or in a traditional classroom setting you need to look at the way you enjoy studying. Certainly for those who are happy to work at a pace that is comfortable for them and on their own then doing their training online is ideal. However, if you are someone who needs constant support then the classroom setting is the far better option.

Tip 2 - Before enrolling on any course one must thoroughly check out the school and its credentials. If you intend to enroll on a course at a brick and mortar school then make sure that you visit it to check out what facilities it has available. The other thing to check for both traditional and online computer schools is that they have the appropriate industry accreditations and they are approved by the State Education Board where you live.

Tip 3 - Along with checking out the school do not forget to check out their tutors as well. It is important to discover how much experience the tutors have in their chosen field. Ideally look for schools where the tutors have experience in a business environment of using the equipment that they are then teaching you to use. A reputable computer training school will be one that is willing to hand this information to you without the need for you to ask.

Tip 4 - Before you enroll on any course to do your Cisco certification make sure that the school provides you with a complete breakdown of their training costs. If you are looking to use one where the price quoted is all inclusive then make sure that they don't surprise you with any additional costs towards the end of your training which could result in you being unable to complete it. Also never enroll on the first course you come across but spend time comparing what each one has to offer.

Tip 5 " A very crucial question that you should be asking of any computer training school before you sign up to their Cisco certification course is what percentage of their students have completed their training and what percentage have attained the necessary certifications. It is important that you get to look at the schools records relating to how many students actually passed their exams the first time. Plus find out what assistance they provide to those students who have problems passing the exams or dont pass them.

If you keep the above in mind you will find it much easier to determine which is the best school for you to do your Cisco certification training at. Remember it is better to take your time and compare each one carefully before you invest your hard earned cash.
